Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Inpatient Rehab RN with a current CA RN license for a 13-week acute rehab hospital assignment.

Details

  • Acute inpatient and acute hospital rehabilitation unit
  • Patient ratio of 1:5
  • Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
  • Floating to Medical-Surgical as needed
  • Weekend requirement depending on unit needs
  • Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

  • Active CA RN license required
  • Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
  • Minimum 2 years of recent experience required
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Skilled in IV therapy, central line and PICC line care, and administration of blood and blood products
  • Experience with orthopedic care including total joint replacement and assistive devices
  • Experience with neurological conditions such as CVA, stroke, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury
  • Experience with respiratory care including tracheostomy management and oxygen delivery
  • Experience with GI care including feeding tube management and swallowing precautions
  • Experience with wound care, pressure ulcer prevention, and fall risk assessment
  • 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required

Additional Information

  • Provide rehabilitative nursing care to patients recovering from orthopedic, neurological, cardiac, and other acute conditions
  • Perform patient teaching related to diabetes management and infection prevention
  • Utilize lift and transfer devices and specialty beds as needed
  • Ventilator care and post-MI cardiac care experience preferred
  • LVAD experience preferred
  • Holiday coverage required, with only one holiday request approved per contract
  • Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
  • Returning employees must have been separated for at least 1 year to be eligible as a traveler
  • Local candidates accepted at local rate
  • Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius unless approved for local rate
  • First-time travelers not considered for this position
