Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Inpatient Rehab RN for a night shift position requiring PA or compact RN licensure and prior acute inpatient rehab experience.

• Inpatient Rehab unit setting
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (6:45p-7:15a)
• 1:5 patient ratio
• Every 3rd weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• May float to other rehab units within the facility, though not likely
• EPIC charting system used

Requirements

• Active PA or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• ACLS, CPI, and NIHSS certifications preferred
• 1-2 years of acute inpatient rehab and acute rehab hospital experience required
• 2 years of specialty experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, tracheostomy, and non-invasive airway management preferred
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, PICC line management, and blood product administration preferred
• Experience managing colostomy/ileostomy and feeding tubes preferred
• Experience with CVA, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury patients
• Experience administering heparin and insulin
• Skilled in wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
• Experience in Med/Surg, orthopedics, ortho trauma, cardiovascular, and renal/dialysis settings preferred
• Valid state license or certification required at time of consideration
• Valid references and copies of certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct nursing care to inpatient rehab patients with a range of neurological, orthopedic, cardiovascular, and renal conditions
• One winter holiday coverage required
• Navy blue scrubs required as part of dress code
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at a local rate differential
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• RTO must be submitted at time of consideration; RTO requested after submission will not be accepted
• PA fingerprints required, which may involve travel over 100 miles and processing time of up to 2-4 weeks
• Labs must be completed within 48 hours of signing
• Pass/fail clinical exam required with a maximum of 3 attempts
