    Opportunity:

    Respiratory Therapist - Acute Care

    Job Details:

    • Night shift position with 36 weekly guaranteed hours
    • Minimum 2 years of experience preferred; NICU experience preferred for assignments in that area
    • Float hospital-wide across units including ICU, PCU, NICU, ED, Med/Surg, Ortho/RNU, L&D, and PACU
    • Provide acute care respiratory therapy for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patient populations
    • Manage ventilators independently and respond to codes
    • Participate in rounds as an integrated member of the core team
    • Orientation typically lasts 2-3 shifts
    • Tiered workload assignment based on acuity and device use
    • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, RRT license, and active MT Respiratory Care Practitioner license
    • Must have proficiency with invasive and noninvasive ventilation, airway management, ABG sampling and analysis, and emergency response
    • Competence in neonatal and pediatric ventilation preferred
    • Experience with Drager ventilators and high-frequency oscillators preferred
    • Familiarity with Cerner documentation preferred
    • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program (Associate's degree or higher) required
    • Equipment used includes: Ventilators (Drager V500/VN500, LTV1200, Hamilton MR1), Nitric (Vero Genosyl Gen 3), HFOV (CareFusion 3100A), BiPAP (Philips V60), HFNC (Airvo 2, Standard blender/70LPM setup), and Tabletop CPAP/BiPAP (ResMed AirSense 10)
    • EHR system: Cerner
    • Scrub color: RT preference; NICU/OR requires hospital-issued scrubs
    • No jeans, leggings, or open-toe shoes; jackets and outerwear must be professional
    • Candidates must reside 60 miles or greater from facility to be considered for travel

    This leading healthcare system in Western Montana has a longstanding tradition of providing personalized care close to home, offering adult and pediatric treatments and technology combined with medical specialties and certifications often only available in major cities. The facility is Joint Commission Accredited and operates a Level III Trauma Center with approximately 150 total hospital beds. It leads Montana's pediatric services, houses a Level 3 NICU, serves as a teaching hospital, holds an Accredited Chest Pain Center designation, and is partnered with Life Flight Network to provide transport services.
