Job Title: Respiratory Care Practitioner Profession: Respiratory Care Practitioner RRT Specialty: Pediatrics Duration: 26 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: Guaranteed 36 hours per week Experience: - Two years of respiratory care experience in a critical care setting preferred. License: - Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner. Certifications: - Registered by the National Board of Respiratory Care. - Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire. - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support within three months of hire. - The Registered Respiratory Therapist credential must be received within 12 months of hire. Must-Have: - Experience in providing respiratory care in a pediatric setting preferred. Description: Under general supervision, provide services for the Respiratory Therapy Department in a timely and efficient manner for all appropriate age levels. Administer therapeutic treatments as prescribed by attending medical staff. Record treatment information and patient responses in their computerized medical record. Act as a resource to medical staff. Perform invasive and noninvasive diagnostic testing and monitoring of patients. Provide age-appropriate care to patients. Ensure that respiratory equipment is cleaned and maintained. Maintain necessary respiratory therapy records. Perform as part of the quick response team for cardiac and respiratory arrests. Perform other duties as assigned. Demonstrate knowledge of procedures and techniques of Respiratory Therapy and the operation and repair of respiratory equipment. Exhibit clinical decision-making skills appropriate to patient care related to the pulmonary and cardiac system. Interpret appropriate information to identify patient needs. Work effectively under stress. Maintain good interpersonal skills and relationships with coworkers. Possess some computer skills.
