Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
o Mostly geriatrics and adults, some peds in the ED
Case Load:
o Case load will vary depending on acuity. Typical case load is 10-15 patients for general floor assignment, 6-8 patients for ICU assignment
Required License, National Certification, Certs:
o BLS, ACLS
o Will accept RRT or CRT
Skills required:
o Vent management, CPAP, BiPap, Nebs, a-line placement, assisting providers with intubation, vent weaning, extubation, ABGs
Support within the Department:
o Other RTs
o RNs on the floor
o Manager/Supervisor/Lead
o Dayshift staffing is 13-15 RTs
Technology/Equipment:
o EMR: EPIC
o IV Pump: N/A
o Med dispensing: Pyxis
o Monitors:
o Unit specific equipment: AVEA vents, Servo U Vent, LPU 1200 Vents, Parapack vents for MRI, Hamilton vents for transport
Floating: If yes, where?
o Float to all units at the hospital
Orientation (facility and unit):
o NEO
o At least 1 shift to learn the flow
Scheduling:
o Weekend rotation: Every other
o On call? No
o Holiday Expectations: assigned as needed
o Approval of RTO: ok to approve up to 7 days off
o Shift times:
o Schedule cycle: Block scheduling will not be accommodated
o AAH adheres to fatigue policy where all staff, including travelers, cannot work more than 60 hours in a week or 5 consecutive 12hour shifts
o Overtime could be available, depending on needs
