Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Profession: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialty: RRT Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (07:00 - 19:30) Experience: Minimum of two years as a staff therapist in pediatric and adult care preferred License: WI Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) required; pending license accepted at the time of submission Certifications: BLS required - AHA only; NBRC - RRT required Must-Have: - Previous charge experience preferred - Experience with trauma level I and II required - Experience in acute care required Description: This is a 36-hour per week assignment. Day/evening shifts are available with a rotating schedule. Every other weekend and two holidays during winter months are required. On-call duty of one 12-hour shift every six weeks is expected. The position requires working with an interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care. Responsibilities include providing aerosolized medication, volume expansion, airway clearance techniques, tracheostomy care, and sputum inductions. Experience with non-invasive and mechanical ventilation at the intermediate care and intensive care unit level is necessary. The therapist will collaborate with physicians, care team leaders, nursing staff, and patients/families to develop and evaluate individualized care plans. Floating may be required based on staffing needs. Standard policies apply for scheduling and trading shifts with other staff. The following skills are essential: adult critical care, aerosol setup, and interpretation of arterial blood gases. Experience with various respiratory therapies and equipment is necessary. Candidates must pass a telemetry exam prior to starting, with strict passing criteria. All applicants will have two attempts to pass. Failure to pass may necessitate a completion certificate of a cardiac interpretation review course before a third attempt. Failure after three attempts will result in cancellation of the assignment.
