General floor assignments typically manage 10-15 patients, while ICU assignments manage 6-8 patients. The team consists of other respiratory therapists and registered nurses on the floor. Management support is available through the department leadership. Day shift staffing includes 13-15 respiratory therapists. Technology used includes an electronic medical record system and specific ventilators for various needs. Floating may be required to all units within the facility. Weekend rotation is required every other week. Holiday assignments are given as needed. Requests for time off may be approved for up to 7 days.
