Experience working with ventilators 2. Willingness to float to adult ICU areas, intermediate care, and basic intermediate care floor Description: The Registered Respiratory Therapist, under supervision, provides and administers all aspects of Respiratory Care Therapy and supportive equipment as outlined in departmental policies. Provides respiratory therapy under medical direction. Engages in the education, treatment, management, and diagnostic evaluation of hospital patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies. Assists with intubation, ventilator set-up, and management. Gathers necessary information to evaluate patient needs. Provides patient-specific disease education as well as consultations with other healthcare professionals when appropriate. Develops rapport and mutual respect with patients and caregivers, fostering an optimal environment for goal achievement. Documents education provided to patients and caregivers based on identified needs in an understandable manner. Performs additional duties and projects as assigned. Adheres to organizational competencies and standards of behavior. Lifts a minimum of 5 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 5 lbs., and stands for a minimum of 1 hour daily. Maintains regular contact with medical personnel and visitors. Demonstrates the ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs. Displays a strong sense of accountability for improving the lives of patients and caregivers. Exhibits an exceptional focus on teamwork and a passion for delivering high-quality care based on patient-centered principles.
