Experience in critical care. Candidates who have not worked at any related facilities in the past year are preferred. Preference for RRT credentials over CRT. Description: The Respiratory Therapist provides care for general medical, intermediate, and ICU patients. The average number of treatments administered per day is approximately 26-28 points using the AARC point system. Primary ventilators used include Servo U, Servo i, and LTV. Bipap and Cpap systems used include ResMed S9. Heated high flow systems are provided by Fisher Paykel. There is a team lead on each shift who does not take patient assignments but serves as a resource. Clientists and intensivists are available 24/7 for patient care. Shifts are scheduled for 12 hours, with start times of 0630 and 1830. Weekend requirements include working every other weekend for both day and night shifts. Holiday requirements include working every other holiday. No call or standby call requirements are necessary for this position. Floating is not required in the respiratory therapy department. Any color scrubs are acceptable; scrubs are not provided. Department-specific orientation includes training on EPIC, ventilator equipment, and specialty items.
