Description:
Willing to rotate between acute and LTC care for three twelves per week with every other weekend.
Patient diagnoses include CHF, COPD, pneumonia, respiratory failure, and respiratory infections.
Special procedures include ABG sampling, ventilator management, patient assessment, and pulmonary hygiene.
Equipment used includes HAMILON VENT, SERVO-U VENT, NKV330 (NIV device), AIRVO2, DREAM MACHINES, and V30's.
Airway management involves endotracheal tube/suctioning, extubation, intubation assist, nasal airway placement, nasal airway suctioning, oral airway placement, oropharyngeal suctioning, sputum specimen collection, and tracheostomy care/suctioning.
Nebulization methods include hand-held, T-piece, and trach collar.
Oxygen therapy includes bag and mask, ET tube, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), T-piece, and trach collar.
Ventilator management involves BiPAP, CPAP, troubleshooting high-pressure alarms, and weaning from mechanical ventilation.
Call is required nights if possible, one every other week.
Weekend coverage includes at least six weekend shifts per 13-week contract.
The unit supports interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary.
Patient demographics range from adolescents to geriatrics.
Daily census and number of visits per day will vary based on patient needs.
Candidates should have experience in adult critical care and emergency department settings.
Charting experience with Epic is mandatory.
