Performs patient assessments and implements respiratory care plans. Carries out various technical and diagnostic respiratory therapy procedures in all areas of the facility. Meets expectations of applicable competencies. Includes emergency response, airway management, and delivery of aerosolized drugs. Manages ventilators and performs oral hygiene and airway support device management. Handles oxygen delivery devices and therapeutic monitoring. Participates in cleaning and stocking of equipment and supplies as necessary. Completes accurate documentation and engages in surveys as required. May function as a Shift Leader or Team Leader. Advanced practice skills may include therapeutic gas management, pulmonary function testing, and bronchoscopy assistance. Responsible for accurate monitoring and evaluation of patient conditions. May assist with special evaluations and transport duties.
