Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a night shift hospital position requiring Level 3 NICU skills and acute care experience across ICU, Med Surg, and ER.
Details
- respiratory care unit spanning ICU, Med Surg, ER, and NICU settings
- 160-bed unit staffed by approximately 32 respiratory therapists
- Night shift staffing minimum of 4-4.5 RTs, day shift minimum of 5-6
- Patient assignments managed through an RVU system
- Equipment includes PB and Drager V500 ventilators, Aerogen nebulizers, V60 BiPAP, HHFNC, Hamilton C-transport ventilators, oscillators, jet ventilators, nitric oxide therapy, and bubble CPAP
- Epic EMR used for charting
- Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- 36-hour work week
- Weekend rotation required every other Saturday and Sunday
- No on-call requirements
Requirements
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in respiratory therapy specialty
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required
- Level 3 NICU skills required
- Acute care experience in Med Surg, ER, and ICU required
- Experience managing BiPAP, ventilators, and heated high flow units required
- Experience assisting with intubations and bedside bronchoscopies required
- Proficient EMR charting skills required
- No employment gaps of 90+ days within the past 12 months
- License required if applicable

- Provide respiratory care across ICU, NICU, Med Surg, and Emergency Department settings
- Assist with intubations and bedside bronchoscopies
- Manage varying patient loads and higher acuity cases with strong time management skills
- Work independently and demonstrate self-motivation
- Willingness to work in a Level 3 NICU setting required
