Respiratory Therapist - CRT NICU Profession: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialty: CRT NICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years as an RRT in Adult Critical Care and NICU; 1 prior travel assignment completed License: MD State licensure Certifications: BLS, CRT Must-Have: - ED experience preferred - ACLS preferred Description: The Respiratory Therapist will work primarily with neonatal and adult patients. They will be responsible for airway management devices and suctioning procedures. This includes endotracheal tube insertion, extubation, nasal airway placement, and oral airway management. The therapist will perform pulmonary hygiene and collect sputum specimens. Additionally, they will interpret arterial blood gases and assist in high-risk deliveries. Knowledge and experience with various medications and aerosol setups are required. Familiarity with ventilators is a must, specifically Draeger V500, Draeger VN500, and Servo U models. Candidates must demonstrate comfort in drawing and analyzing ABGs. They are expected to float between adult and neonatal units. Experience in the emergency department is beneficial. Overall, candidates should possess strong critical thinking skills and adaptability in high-pressure situations.
