This position requires a highly skilled therapist comfortable managing super high-acuity and critically ill neonates, including premature infants requiring advanced respiratory support. Candidates should have hands-on experience with advanced mechanical ventilation, high-frequency ventilation, neonatal resuscitation, and therapeutic cooling patients. Clinical skills and responsibilities include providing advanced respiratory care to premature, critically ill, and medically complex neonates. You will manage patients receiving invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation. Experience with conventional ventilators and high-frequency ventilation (HFOV/HFJV) is essential. You will manage CPAP, BiPAP/NIPPV, high-flow nasal cannula, and oxygen therapy. Assisting with intubation, extubation, airway management, and emergency stabilization is required. You will administer respiratory medications, aerosol treatments, and oxygen therapy as ordered. Assisting with surfactant administration is part of the role. You will obtain and interpret arterial, capillary, and venous blood gases. Adjusting respiratory support based on patient condition, blood gases, and provider orders is necessary. Participation in neonatal resuscitation and high-risk deliveries is expected. You will provide respiratory support for neonates undergoing therapeutic hypothermia/cooling. Recognizing and responding rapidly to respiratory deterioration and neonatal emergencies is critical. Maintaining and troubleshooting ventilators, respiratory equipment, and airway devices is part of the job. Collaboration with neonatologists, NICU nurses, and the multidisciplinary care team is essential. You will maintain accurate and timely documentation of respiratory treatments and patient responses.
