Must-Have:
- Ability to communicate well

- Established relationships with physicians and other healthcare professionals
- Computer skills, including familiarity with databases
- Good customer relations, assessment, and communication skills
Description:
The Respiratory Therapist II is responsible for medication administration and implementing respiratory care based on expanded knowledge and experience.
This role includes evaluating and treating patients with complex, multiple problems.
The majority of the work occurs in critical care areas with protocol ventilator management and significant independent decision-making.
The Respiratory Therapist II delivers patient care while being aware of population-specific needs.
This role includes patient, family, and support system education.
Coordination of activities, staff development, and professional self-development are also included.
The Respiratory Therapist II addresses biological, emotional, and developmental needs during patient care.
Responsibilities include patient assessment, therapy planning, and collaboration with healthcare team members.
Verification of orders and administration of medication therapies are critical functions of the job.
This role performs ventilator management, airway management, and arterial blood gas sampling and analysis.
Education of patients and mentoring of new employees and peers is encouraged.
Promoting a safe environment includes accurate electronic orders, charting, and patient safety initiatives.
The Respiratory Therapist II participates in performance improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice.
