Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist Profession: RRT Specialty: Respiratory Therapy Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours (6:45 AM - 7:00 PM) Experience: 1-3 years preferred License: RT or RCP License required in the state of TX Certifications: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by NBRC required Must-Have: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP required Description: Responsible for the pulmonary care of critical, non-critical, and chronically ill adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients under the direction of a physician with minimal supervision. Performs patient assessments and institutes respiratory care plans. Performs various technical and diagnostic respiratory therapy procedures in all areas of the facility. Meets expectations of the applicable competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders. Responsibilities include emergency response, airway management, delivery of aerosolized drugs, and ventilator management. Performs oral hygiene and airway device management, including BiPAP and CPAP devices. Handles oxygen delivery devices and therapeutic monitoring, chest film analysis, and blood gas collection and analysis. Conducts EKG analysis and ensures accurate and completed documentation. Responsible for cleaning and stocking of equipment and supplies as necessary. Participates in relevant surveys. May function as Shift Leader or serve in the capacity of Team Leader. Advanced practice skills may include therapeutic gas management, pulmonary function testing, bronchoscopy assistance, hemodynamic monitoring, waveform analysis, nocturnal SpO2 evaluation, and polysomnography. May also involve transport duties.
