Competence in neonatal and pediatric ventilation preferred.
Description:
This role involves providing respiratory support to adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients.
Responsibilities include ventilator management, oxygen therapy, aerosolized medication delivery, airway clearance, and resuscitation support.
Travelers are integrated into the core team and are expected to participate in rounds, respond to codes, and manage ventilators independently.
Orientation typically lasts 2 to 3 shifts.
Equipment utilized includes Drager V500/VN500, LTV1200, Hamilton MR1 ventilators, and other advanced respiratory devices.
Experience in a Level III or higher NICU is preferred.
Familiarity with electronic health record documentation is beneficial.
Common diagnoses treated include COPD, pneumonia, ARDS, CHF, post-op ventilation, sepsis, bronchiolitis, and neonatal RDS.
Candidates should be independent, flexible, dependable, and team-oriented.
Comfort floating between different patient populations and units is essential.
Education must be from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program (Associate's or higher).
The dress code requires professional attire, with specific restrictions on unacceptable clothing.
