Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a Level 3 NICU night shift travel assignment requiring NRP certification and prior Level 2 or 3 NICU experience.

Details

  • 36-bed Level 3 NICU at a 422-bed hospital
  • Unit typically staffed with 2 respiratory therapists per shift covering peak volumes
  • Uses Drager VN500 ventilators, 3100A Oscillators, Mallinckrodt Nitric Oxide, and Vapotherm equipment
  • EMR systems used: Meditech and NeoNotes
  • Night shift hours from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
  • 13-week assignment
  • Every other weekend and holiday rotation required in accordance with facility policy

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of recent experience in specialty
  • Level 3 NICU experience required; candidates with 3-5 years of Level 2 NICU experience will be considered
  • NRP certification required (Advanced 9th Edition)
  • ACLS certification required
  • STABLE certification preferred
  • Active RRT license and certification required; license required if applicable
  • No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
  • US SSN and DOB required for consideration
  • One professional reference required (two required for Florida and Missouri candidates)

Additional Information

  • Attend high-risk deliveries and provide neonatal respiratory support
  • Manage ventilators using both conventional and high-frequency oscillatory ventilation
  • Administer surfactant and Nitric Oxide as needed
  • Perform blood gas acquisition and interpretation
  • Work independently with strong critical thinking and attention to detail
  • Grey scrub color designated for Respiratory Therapy staff
  • 50-mile radius rule applies; local candidates within this radius are not eligible for this position
