Job Description:
Position: Respiratory Therapist
Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Setting: Level II & Level III NICU / Special Care Nursery
Duration: 13 weeks
Â
Schedule:
- 36 hours per week
- Rotating shifts or all nights available
- Every third weekend required
- Weekly orientation (typically Mondays)
Travel Pay Package:
- $2,844 per week total. Includes base pay, housing, meals and incidentals
Overview:
- Provide respiratory care services in a Level II and Level III NICU environment
- Assess, treat, and manage neonatal patients with respiratory conditions
- Perform and interpret respiratory tests and procedures
- Manage artificial airways and mechanical ventilation
- Administer aerosolized medications and oxygen therapy
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Support a birthing hospital NICU and Special Care Nursery population
- Work autonomously while following established respiratory care protocols
Additional Details:

- Client interview required
- Start date ASAP (approximately 4 weeks needed for compliance)

- No specific scrub color required
- Delivery room experience preferred
- Interview availability must be provided at time of submission
- All RTO must be disclosed at time of submission
- Travelers must live more than 50 miles from the facility
- Previous Beth Israel Lahey Health employees must be separated from the system for at least 6 months before being considered
Requirements:
- RRT credential required
- Active Massachusetts Respiratory Therapy license required
- NRP certification required
- BLS (AHA) required
- Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapy experience required
- NICU experience required
- Pediatric experience may be considered, but NICU experience is mandatory
- Delivery room experience preferred
- Experience with mechanical ventilation and neonatal respiratory care required
