Job Summary:
Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS) position located in an acute care facility. The role involves providing respiratory therapy to neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients, including those in intensive care units and during open-heart surgeries. The assignment offers an opportunity to work within a level 2 trauma center, utilizing advanced ventilators and airway management skills to deliver high-quality patient care.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Rotating shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, beginning 10/19/2026 and ending 04/19/2027.
- Required Qualifications: Certifications in BLS and CRT; minimum 2 years of recent level 3 or 4 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) or Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) experience; valid compact state license in hand at submission; willingness to work 3 major holidays including Christmas; candidates with all levels of experience in pediatric and adult ICU are strongly preferred.
- Preferred Qualifications: Certifications in ACLS, NRP, PALS, RRT; experience with ventilators such as Puritan Bennett, Draeger, Servo I; trauma experience.
- Open to accommodating block schedule: No.
- Float: Float rotation may be required, covering NICU, PICU, and adult units as per facility needs.
- Additional Information: This role involves managing a wide range of respiratory therapies including NIV, high flow, nebulizers, CPT, nitric oxide, and inhaled medications. Ventilators used include Draeger vents for adults, Servo-I and jet ventilators for NICU and PICU. Clinical expertise in troubleshooting ventilator alarms and airway management is essential. All candidates must be committed to working during major holidays as specified.
