Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a Level 1 trauma teaching hospital, requiring critical care experience and advanced ventilator management skills for a night shift assignment.

Details

• Level 1 trauma center and teaching hospital setting with 400+ beds
• Work in adult critical care units and the Emergency Department
• Patient background includes trauma, neuro, medical, cardiac, and surgical ICUs
• 12-hour night shift schedule with every other weekend required
• 2 call shifts required along with a holiday commitment
• On-call availability required as necessary
• Uses Hamilton G5, C6, T1, MR1, Philips EV300, and INO ventilators
• EPIC EMR used

Requirements

• Respiratory Therapist License required if applicable
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Critical care, Level 1 trauma, and teaching hospital experience required
• Proficient in advanced ventilator management including esophageal balloons, PV loop interpretations, driving pressure assessment, and best PEEP maneuvers
• MA license required in hand
• Flu vaccine documentation required during flu season

Additional Information

• Provide advanced respiratory care to critically ill adult patients across multiple ICU specialties
• Weekly orientation held on Mondays
• Pass/Fail Tele/ECG and Medication testing required for certain campus locations
• COVID vaccine plus booster and flu vaccine required, with medical exemptions allowed
• Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility will not be accepted
• Previous employees or travelers with Beth Israel Lahey Health must have a 6-month break before returning
• All RTO requests must be presented at time of consideration
• First-time travelers not specified as accepted or excluded
