Job Summary:
Respiratory Therapist - Pediatrics (RT PEDS) in Charlotte, North Carolina. This position involves providing respiratory care exclusively for pediatric patients within a dedicated childrens hospital setting. The role requires working during night shifts, with a strong focus on delivering specialized pediatric respiratory support.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Two (2) years of respiratory therapy experience within pediatric units in the past five years, valid licensure and certifications including BLS, PALS, ACLS, NRP, and appropriate licensure.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with ED, ICU, or pediatric intensive care units, ventilator management (IPPV/NIPPV), and familiarity with electronic medical records such as EPIC.
- Float: LCH respiratory therapy staff will not be floated to other facilities due to the specialized nature of the role.
- Orientation: Total of 3 days of onboarding, including facility and unit orientation, equipment training, and a walkthrough.
- Support within Department: Respiratory leadership available to assist clinicians.
- Technology/Equipment: Ventilators (IPPV/NIPPV) and other department-specific equipment, to be discussed during the interview.
- Additional Information: Applicants with experience working in multiple intensive care units will have designated orientation days for each unit. Candidates must have at least two years of Pediatric respiratory therapy experience in the recent past and demonstrate proficiency with ventilator management and pediatric-specific respiratory care.
