Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years experience and Trauma Level I/II experience for a day shift position at a Level I/II trauma hospital.

Details

  • Respiratory therapy department within a Trauma Level I and II hospital
  • Works with adult critical care, emergency department, NICU, pediatric critical care, and pediatric populations
  • Performs neonatal and pediatric procedures including CPAP/BiPAP, oscillating ventilator management, capillary and umbilical blood gases, and high-risk delivery assistance
  • Manages patients with ARDS, aspiration, COVID, cystic fibrosis, pneumonia, and fresh tracheostomies
  • Provides ventilator management, ABG interpretation, chest physiotherapy, and airway suctioning/intubation assistance
  • Utilizes Epic for charting
  • Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (6:30 AM-7:00 PM), Friday through Sunday, every weekend

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
  • NICU/Pediatric RRT experience preferred
  • Trauma Level I and Level II hospital experience required
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Epic charting experience preferred
  • Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, PALS, RRT (NBRC)
  • MN RRT license required if applicable; pending license may be accepted but must be obtained by start date
  • Skilled in medication delivery systems and administration including nebulizers, MDIs, and various respiratory medications
  • Experience with neonatal/pediatric ventilators, bubble CPAP, and neonatal transport preferred

Additional Information

  • Provide comprehensive respiratory care across adult, pediatric, and neonatal populations
  • Participate in high-risk delivery response and neonatal transports as needed
  • Required to work holidays as needed by the facility
  • Must wear dove gray scrubs
  • First-time travelers will be considered for this position
  • Local candidates are not accepted; travelers must reside at least 25 miles from the facility
  • Former permanent staff must be separated from the facility for at least 9 months before returning as a traveler
  • Maximum of 7 days RTO permitted, with no RTO during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
  • All time off requests must be disclosed and approved at the time of consideration
  • Required lab work must be completed within 48 hours of signing the contract
  • Minnesota fingerprinting must be completed in person on the Monday prior to the scheduled start date, per state requirement
