Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS) position in the respiratory therapy specialty located in a Level III trauma center. This role involves providing critical respiratory care to a diverse patient population, including neonates and geriatrics, across various hospital units such as intensive care units (ICUs), emergency departments (EDs), progressive care units (PCUs), and neonatal intensive care units (NICU). The therapist will support clinical operations with duties including ventilator management, respiratory therapies, and equipment monitoring, working primarily during night shifts.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Night shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Certifications including BLS, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); valid state licensure; at least 1 year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist; ability to draw and analyze arterial blood gases (ABGs); proficiency with BiPAP, CPAP, ventilator and trach management; knowledge of various respiratory therapies and equipment; Neonate experience preferred.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Support on the unit as supervisor or lead; experience with EPIC charting system, Blood gas analysis, and ventilators (Medtronic, Draeger, LTV, Servo NIV); familiarity with Pyxis medication system and other respiratory equipment.
  • Additional Information: The role will require floating across ICU, ER, PCU, and NICU units, especially during surge situations. Orientation includes 1-2 days of hospital-specific training. The candidate must be available to work 7 days per week, with the ability to request schedule modifications, including block scheduling with a two-week notice. Time off requests for up to 5 days can be submitted via email. Holiday work is expected, with at least one holiday per schedule.
