Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist (RT) Pediatric (PEDS) specialized in Critical Care, located in a 123-bed hospital in Spokane Valley, Washington. This role involves providing respiratory therapy services in a Level 3 Trauma Center, primarily for adult and geriatric patient populations, with potential pediatric and infant care. The position offers a challenging and rewarding environment, requiring adaptive skills across various units and patient acuities.
Job Details
- Schedule: Night shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM, every other weekend, with a schedule cycle released 6 weeks at a time. Scheduled hours are 36 per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid licensure and certifications including Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). A minimum of 2 years of respiratory therapy experience, including basic respiratory therapy skills, critical care experience, ventilator management, BiPAPs, High-Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), and familiarity with respiratory equipment/accessories. Pediatric nursery experience is helpful but not mandatory if the candidate has current NRP certification.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with nursery settings and comfort with working in a small community hospital environment.
- Additional Information: The position entails working across all hospital departments with specific area assignments per shift, utilizing EPIC electronic medical records and Getinge Servo-u ventilators. Support is provided on the unit by the respiratory therapy manager and team lead. The facility offers free parking in designated areas. The candidate should demonstrate engagement and a positive attitude to assimilate effectively into the team. Scrub color is flexible as long as it is a solid color with matching top and bottom.
