Job Summary:
The Respiratory Therapist, Registered is based in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. This position involves providing advanced respiratory care to pediatric and neonatal patients, including airway management, mechanical ventilator management, oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, and pulmonary function testing. The role requires functioning independently with minimal supervision and serving as a resource to other staff members.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program; current certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC); at least two (2) years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist; ability to read, analyze, and interpret clinical information and technical procedures; ability to document clinical information; effective communication skills; proficiency in mathematical skills; reasoning ability; and experience with pediatric, PICU, and NICU settings.

- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information: The Respiratory Therapist may perform advanced practice procedures including UAC, UVC, IV insertion, chest tube insertion, needle decompression, ABG analysis, blood glucose monitoring, ECMO management, and ventilator care. The role includes managing patients in NICU, PICU, and other pediatric units, with responsibilities extending to transport and advanced airway management.
