Job Summary:
Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS) in a neonatal, pediatric, and adult intensive care unit setting. The position involves providing respiratory care procedures for diverse patient populations ranging from infants to geriatrics. The role requires flexibility to work nights and adapt to shifting patient care needs, with an emphasis on critical care procedures and electronic charting.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, from 09/28/2026 to 12/28/2026
- Required Qualifications: Active Nebraska license; at least 2 years of floor care therapy experience; at least 2 years of intensive care therapy experience; valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification via the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC); willingness to wait for license submission.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with NICU Level 4, L&D, and PICU Level 1 trauma/transplant; familiarity with Servoi, SiPAP, and Sensormedics 3100A (HFOV) ventilator machines; knowledge of blood gas analysis; experience with electronic charting, EPIC system; familiarity with equipment such as Pyxis medication and supply machines; prior clinical experience in adult intensive care units.
- Additional Information: The position involves respiratory procedures for infants to geriatric patients including nebulizers, MDI management, bronchial hygiene, volume expansion, CPAP, and BiPAP. Clinical skills include blood gas analysis, ventilator management, and electronic charting. Support staff may be available but patient care volumes will vary daily. Patient assignment may include NICU, PICU, adult ICU, and general floor care, with potential shifts in unit assignments based on facility needs.
