Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist with 2+ years of Adult ICU and general care experience for a night shift position at a hospital.

Details

  • Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics unit within a hospital setting
  • Adult critical care and general care patient population
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
  • Every other weekend required
  • Mandatory floating required, including coverage as a Patient Observer/Sitter
  • ICU staff may float to PCU or MS units
  • PCU staff may float to MS or ICU units
  • Cerner charting system preferred but not required

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapy experience required
  • Adult ICU and general care experience required
  • Active MO or Compact license required in hand at time of consideration; pending license accepted for this role
  • License required if applicable
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • PALS certification required
  • RRT certification required; CRT not accepted
  • Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and airway management preferred
  • Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred

Additional Information

  • Provide respiratory care services including ventilator management, oxygen therapy, and airway management for adult ICU and general care patients
  • Work as part of a healthcare team in a facility operating 24/7, 365 days a year
  • Must be able to work rotating shifts including holidays and during inclement weather
  • 50% holiday coverage required
  • Maximum 10 days of requested time off (RTO) at time of consideration
  • Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
  • First-time travelers may be considered for this role
  • Re-orientation not required for returning travelers within 18 months of their last assignment
  • Physical demands include frequent ambulating, reaching, and moving objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs
  • Routine contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses
