Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist (Registered) specializing in Pediatric (RT PEDS) in Oregon. This position involves providing respiratory treatments to patients of all ages, including neonates, pediatric, and adult patients within a critical access hospital setting. The role requires independent critical thinking, prioritization, and teamwork while supporting the inpatient care team.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Coverage may include night shifts and weekends, with variable scheduling to fill shift gaps, including FMLA and PTO coverage. Majority of shifts work independently, with occasional coverage needs requiring working alone.
  • Required Qualifications: Certifications including Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA), Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) via the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). No minimum years of experience specified. Must have Oregon state licensure for Respiratory Therapy.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience performing Bubble Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP), arterial blood gases (ABGs), and ventilator, Bipap, and CPAP management. Demonstrated ability to assist with intubation is preferred but not required, as assistance only is expected.
  • Additional Information: This position involves providing ventilator support, breathing treatments, EKGs, and ABGs for various patient ages across multiple hospital departments. The ability to move quickly and work independently is essential in this critical access hospital environment, which includes extensive walking and prioritization skills. Daily responsibilities include shift checks and billing of procedures.
  • Notes: The hospital can cancel up to four shifts during a 13-week assignment. The environment is mainly inpatient with minimal outpatient services. The department has a dedicated hospitalist on site, with a low number of vent days per month.
