Job Summary:
Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS) position in an inpatient setting. This role involves managing adult and pediatric patients, primarily focusing on ventilator management, Covid protocols, ABG draws, nebulaizations, and patient education related to inhalers. The position requires flexibility, adaptability to varying treatment volumes, and collaboration with a team of respiratory therapists.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Night shifts, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week. Start date is 11/02/2026, with an end date of 02/01/2027.
  • Required Qualifications: Certifications include BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, strongly preferred), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support, preferred), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program, preferred). License to submit required. Minimum of 1 year of experience as a respiratory therapist in a similar size facility and setting.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with adult and pediatric patients, familiarity with Cerner charting system, proficiency in managing ventilators (Draeger vents, V60 Bipap, Opticflow high flow), and using Respironics equipment.
  • Responsibilities: Drawing all ABGs, nebulization and breathing treatments, patient teaching about inhalers, managing ventilators like Vents, Bipap, heated high flow devices, performing EKGs when Diagnostic department is closed.
  • Additional Information: The facility has 24/7 hospitalist or intensivist presence, with staff reporting to two clinical coordinators. Staff usually work in teams of 2-3 RTs per shift, with flexibility to adjust staffing levels as needed. No call requirements; shifts include weekend commitments every third weekend, with optional holiday shifts for interested travelers. The dress code is wine/burgundy/maroon scrubs, preferably Cherokee brand.
