Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift hospital position requiring at least 1 year of experience and recent Epic charting experience.

Details

• 13-week night shift assignment, 3x12-hour shifts from 18:45 to 07:15
• Weekend and holiday coverage required, including Thanksgiving and Christmas or Christmas Eve
• No on-call requirements
• Adult critical care and pediatric patient populations
• Performs aerosolized medication administration, EZPAP, IPPB, MDI, CPT, incentive spirometry, oxygen therapy, CPAP/BiPAP therapy, and arteriocentesis
• Ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, flow-by, alarm troubleshooting, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and oral/nasal suctioning
• Epic EMR experience required
• Floating expected unless otherwise stated
• Locals accepted at the same rate

Requirements

• RRT certification required; CRT not accepted
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• License required if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Travel experience preferred
• Epic experience within the last 18 months required and must be detailed on profile
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Must pass Epic competency exam prior to start
• Candidates requiring fit testing must be clean-shaven
• Two supervisory references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Administer a range of respiratory therapies including nebulizer treatments, oxygen therapy, and airway suctioning
• Provide care across adult critical care and pediatric settings
• Collect sputum specimens and manage tracheostomy care
• Perform arterial blood gas interpretation to guide treatment
• Return travelers should indicate prior assignment history for staffing approval
• No block scheduling or special schedule requests will be accommodated
