Respiratory Therapist (RT) Pediatrics (PEDS) in a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) setting. This position involves providing advanced respiratory care for critically ill neonates, including premature infants and those requiring complex respiratory support and therapeutic cooling. The role demands a highly skilled professional with extensive experience managing high-acuity neonatal patients in a Level III NICU environment.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Active Respiratory Therapist license as required by the state; RRT credential preferred/required; BLS; NRP; 4 years of recent Level III NICU experience; strong experience caring for high-acuity and critically ill neonates; therapeutic cooling experience required; must be comfortable independently managing complex neonatal respiratory patients; previous travel experience preferred for traveler positions; minimum experience of 0 years
  • Preferred Qualifications: Additional certifications may be required based on facility policy
  • Responsibilities: Provide advanced respiratory care to neonates, manage invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation, assist with intubation and airway management, administer respiratory medications and oxygen therapy, participate in neonatal resuscitation and high-risk deliveries, and collaborate with the multidisciplinary care team. Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory equipment and document treatments thoroughly.
  • Additional Information: The selected candidate will be expected to manage complex neonatal respiratory cases, including patients undergoing therapeutic hypothermia. The role requires handling emergencies swiftly and maintaining precise documentation.
