Job Summary:
Respiratory Therapist registered (RT PEDS) position located in West Valley City, Utah. This role involves providing respiratory care to pediatric and adult patients in an acute care setting. The position requires working night shifts and offers an opportunity to be the sole respiratory therapist in-house, with responsibilities including patient assessments, diagnostic testing, care plan development, and transportation of patients within the facility.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM; minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) via NBRC, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); 2 years of respiratory therapy experience; prior use of electronic medical records (EMR); experience with adult and newborn patient populations.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with pediatric respiratory care, previous work in acute care environments.
- Additional Information:
- Responsible for patient assessments, care plan implementation, and evaluation.
- Performs diagnostic testing, including arterial blood gases (ABGs), pulmonary function tests (PFTs), electrocardiograms (EKGs), and other procedures such as bronchoscopy and pulse oximetry.
- Transports patients within the hospital or between facilities.
- May require flexible hours before and after scheduled shifts, including overtime and standby call coverage outside of standard hours.
- The hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment, or 3 shifts for shorter assignments.
- The position involves working in an acute care environment with a trauma level capable setting.
