Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a travel position at a children's hospital, working night shifts across PICU, NICU, and Pediatric ER settings.

Details

  • Respiratory Therapy department providing pulmonary care to critical, non-critical, and chronically ill adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients
  • Must be able to work in PICU, NICU, and Pediatric ER settings
  • Night shift, 6:45 PM to 7:00 AM
  • 13-week assignment, full time

Requirements

  • RT or RCP license in the state of TX required if applicable
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential by NBRC required
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required (AHA only)
  • 1-3 years of experience preferred

Additional Information

  • Perform patient assessments and implement respiratory care plans under physician direction with minimal supervision
  • Respond to emergency codes and manage airways, including nasotracheal and endotracheal suctioning
  • Deliver aerosolized medications, manage ventilators, and maintain airway support devices such as BiPAP and CPAP
  • Perform oxygen delivery device management, chest film analysis, blood gas collection and analysis, and EKG analysis
  • Maintain accurate documentation and participate in equipment cleaning and stocking
  • May serve as Shift Leader or Team Leader depending on experience
  • Advanced practice duties may include therapeutic gas management, pulmonary function testing, bronchoscopy assistance, hemodynamic monitoring, and transport duties
  • Returning employees who previously worked at any CHRISTUS facility must have a 6-month separation period before starting a new travel assignment
  • Candidates must clear compliance requirements by the required due date prior to starting
