< Unit Details:

  • Surgery Trauma / High-Acuity Medical-Surgical Unit

  • Patient Ratio: Approximately 5:1

  • Nursing Support Technicians available

  • Phlebotomy support available

  • Unit Secretary available during night shift

  • ED and admitting unit participate in nurse handoff

>z Patient Population:

  • Surgical patients

  • Trauma patients

  • Gunshot wound patients

  • Spinal injuries

  • Quadriplegic patients

  • Paraplegic patients

= Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of recent Medical/Surgical experience, preferably in a high-acuity or trauma setting

  • Previous travel nursing experience required

  • EPIC experience required

  • Strong acute-care assessment and critical-thinking skills

  • Comfortable caring for complex surgical and trauma patients

  • Must be willing to work assigned night shifts

= Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care to high-acuity surgical and trauma patients

  • Perform comprehensive assessments and monitor changes in condition

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans

  • Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments according to physician orders

  • Monitor vital signs, neurological status, pain levels, and other clinical indicators

  • Provide care for complex surgical and traumatic injuries

  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, nursing support staff, and interdisciplinary team members

  • Complete accurate and timely documentation in EPIC

  • Participate in nurse-to-nurse handoff with the ED and admitting units

  • Maintain patient safety and follow hospital policies, procedures, and infection-control standards

  • Work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment

Certifications:

  • BLS required

  • ACLS preferred

  • RN License required
