Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care to IMCU/PCU patients, including neuro, cardiac, trauma, COPD, DKA, sepsis, MI, CV stepdown, and post-op cases
- Monitor patient conditions, perform assessments, interpret data, and escalate changes promptly to the care team
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments per provider orders; manage hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator support as applicable
- Document care and messages accurately in the EPIC EMR; communicate with physicians, therapists, and other disciplines
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and adjust care plans; assist with transfers and discharge planning
- Provide care while floating to alternate units as needed and adhere to unit-specific policies and safety protocols
Requirements
- Active RN license in New York; Nursys verification required; ability to have ALL RN licenses verified; RTO (requested time off) must be included at submission
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications; NIHSS preferred or as required by unit
- 2+ years of IMCU/PCU experience; prior travel experience encouraged
- EPIC EMR experience or demonstrated proficiency with a similar system
- Driver’s license with address matching demographics
- Ability to float to other units as needed to support patient care
- Education: graduation from an accredited RN program; licensure to practice as a registered nurse in NY
