Responsibilities
- Provide direct, bedside nursing care to neuro-focused patients in PCU, Neuro ICU, and IMCU settings; perform ongoing neurological assessments and monitor status.
- Administer medications and manage IV therapies; respond to changes in patient condition and escalate per protocol.
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practitioners, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans; participate in rounds and family updates.
- Document accurately in the electronic medical record; ensure complete documentation, manage patient transfers and discharges when appropriate, and support safe patient handoffs.
- Maintain safety and infection control standards; uphold unit protocols and respond effectively to emergencies; assist with patient positioning and mobility as needed.
- Float between ICU and step-down units as required by assignment needs; adapt to unit demands while maintaining high-quality care.
Requirements
- ACTIVE RN license in Georgia with Nursys license verification
- Minimum 2 years of neuro-focused experience (Neuro ICU/IMCU/PCU or closely related critical care) and demonstrable strong neuro skills
- Ability to work night shifts (12-hour shifts) and to float between ICU and step-down units as needed
- Resume with no gaps greater than 60 days; readiness to load demographic information into profile, including badge-appropriate photo; provide Skills Checklist, references, and Certification Card
- Willingness to fulfill mandatory holiday coverage: Thanksgiving (or day after) and either Christmas Eve/Day or New Year’s Eve/Day
