Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated perioperative nursing care for patients undergoing surgery, following established standards and the nursing process.
- Provide intraoperative support as a circulating nurse, collaborating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the surgical team; maintain sterile technique and patient safety.
- Assess patient status preoperatively, monitor intraoperative conditions, and contribute to postoperative recovery planning.
- Develop, implement, and adjust care plans; document care accurately and communicate patient needs to the multidisciplinary team.
- Educate patients and families about perioperative procedures, discharge plans, and postoperative care as appropriate.
- Delegate and supervise assigned nursing staff and coordinate care delivery across the care team.
Requirements
- Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice (California)
- Certifications: Current BLS/CPR certification from an approved vendor
- Experience: Minimum of two years of recent OR or acute care nursing experience
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Ability to work in an operating room and acute care setting with appropriate instrumentation and equipment
- Orientation to and comfort with a fast-paced perioperative environment
- Availability for the listed shift and travel assignment requirements
