Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for postpartum mothers and newborns on the Mother Baby unit, including ongoing assessments and monitoring
- Administer medications and IV therapies as ordered; monitor for adverse reactions and document responses
- Collaborate with obstetricians, neonatal staff, lactation consultants, and the broader care team to support recovery and discharge planning
- Perform newborn assessments, support breastfeeding, monitor vital signs, weight, and transition to caregiver routines
- Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record; ensure charting compliance and timely updates
- Respond to clinical changes, implement safety and infection control protocols, and participate in quality improvement activities
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in the Mother Baby specialty
- Required AHA BLS and NRP certifications
- Active RN license in good standing
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts on a 12x3 schedule
- Eligible for travel assignment in Georgia
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to adapt to a hospital setting and travel requirements
