Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care for adult patients on a telemetry-enabled Med Surg unit
- Monitor vital signs and cardiac rhythms; respond to dysrhythmias per protocol
- Administer prescribed medications, including Cardizem and insulin drips, and monitor responses
- Manage IV therapy, wound care, and routine nursing procedures; assist with insulin management and other specialty protocols as ordered
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient education in the electronic medical record
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team on care planning, discharge planning, and patient education
- May be requested to float to nearby units as needed to support patient care demand
Requirements
- Active registered nurse license (NH or Compact) at time of submission
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Dysrhythmia exam with 80% passed during onboarding
- 2+ years of acute care experience in Med Surg Tele/telemetry
- NURSYS license verification for all active RN licenses
- Cerner EMR experience preferred (not required)
- RTO (time-off) must be included at time of submission
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts in a travel assignment
