Responsibilities
- Deliver direct, quality nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients, including those with oncology overflow
- Administer and chart medications, treatments, and clinical interventions per physician orders
- Monitor patient status, perform ongoing assessments, and respond promptly to changes in condition
- Document in the electronic medical record (EPIC) with accuracy and timeliness
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate care, plan transfers, and assist with discharge planning
- Maintain safety, infection control, and comfort measures; support patient mobility and activities of daily living as appropriate
- Prioritize patient and family education and communicate effectively with physicians, aides, and supervisors
Requirements
- Active RN license in the United States with Nursys license verification
- Minimum 2 years of Med Surg nursing experience
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; additional certifications as applicable
- Ability to work a 12-hour day shift in a fast-paced Med Surg setting
- Completion of a full application package including work history with no gaps greater than 60 days, Skills Checklist, references, certification card, and Nursys verification
