Responsibilities
- Provide direct bedside nursing care to adult patients on a medical-surgical unit with neuro-focused needs, under supervision of charge and primary nurses
- Monitor neurological status, vital signs, and overall clinical condition; perform frequent neuro checks and report changes promptly
- Administer prescribed medications and therapies, manage IV lines and infusions, and monitor for adverse effects
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other members of the care team to implement and adjust the plan of care; participate in rounds and handoffs
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and post-discharge care; assist with activities of daily living as needed
- Ensure accurate documentation in the electronic health record, uphold patient safety, infection prevention, and adherence to hospital policies
Requirements
- Active RN license in the United States; state-specific licensure or multi-state (compact) license as applicable
- Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in Med Surg, with neuro-focused or acute care exposure preferred
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program; current licensure as a registered nurse
- Ability to work 7:00 PM–7:00 AM (12-hour nights) and adapt to a 12x3 schedule, including holiday coverage as required
