Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or an assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff, and coordinate care with other disciplines.
- Utilize critical thinking, professional judgment, and independent assessment to plan and implement care in the L&D setting.
- Monitor maternal and fetal status, administer medications as ordered, assist with labor and delivery, and support postpartum care.
- Document care activities in patient records, ensure safety protocols, and communicate effectively with the care team.
- Collaborate with obstetric, anesthesia, nursing, and support staff to optimize patient outcomes and patient education.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in Oregon
- Bachelor’s or associate degree in nursing from an accredited program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Prior experience in labor & delivery or obstetric nursing preferred; willingness to adapt to an inpatient L&D environment
- Ability to work 12-hour day shifts in a fast-paced, team-based unit
- Eligible for a travel assignment and able to collaborate with rotating teams and unit protocols
