Responsibilities
- Provide direct, evidence-based nursing care to ICU patients across the appropriate age groups.
- Monitor hemodynamics, respiratory status, and neurologic status; respond quickly to changes and implement physician orders.
- Administer medications and therapies, including high-risk IV medications, vasoactive infusions, and ventilator management as indicated.
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary team; participate in care planning and rounds.
- Document care accurately in the electronic medical record (EPIC), ensure data integrity, and maintain charting compliance.
- Support patient and family education, discharge planning, and transition of care while upholding safety and infection control standards.
Requirements
- Current California license as a Registered Nurse
- BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
- ACLS certification required
- PALS certification required within six months of hire
- EPIC experience required
- At least two years of ICU nursing experience; or completion of an approved ICU training course
- Basic computer skills and ability to navigate electronic health records
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
