Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to ED patients across the lifespan, including triage, initial assessment, and ongoing monitoring
- Manage patient status, interpret monitors, administer medications, IV therapy, and provide procedural support per hospital protocols
- Collaborate with the ED team, assist with ED procedures, and document care in the EPIC EMR
- Float to other units as needed and contribute to patient safety, infection control, and adherence to evidence-based practices
- Educate patients and families about care plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up as appropriate
- Prepare and assist with stabilization for stroke, sepsis, trauma, MI, cardiac arrest, respiratory failure, and other common ED presentations
Requirements
- Current, active New York RN license with Nursys verification
- Certifications: AHA ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC required
- Experience: 2+ years of ED nursing experience; pediatric exposure preferred
- Travel experience required; EMR experience with EPIC preferred
- Ability to work in a high-acuity ED environment with floating to other units as needed
- Residency: must live at least 75 miles from the facility; locals within 75 miles may be eligible for local rate
- Driver’s license with address that matches demographics
- RTO (time off) must be included at time of submission
