Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive assessment and continuous monitoring of patients in the ER, including documentation of vital signs, medical history, and presenting symptoms.
- Triage and prioritize patient care, initiate appropriate interventions, administer medications, and manage IV therapy as ordered.
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the multidisciplinary team to implement treatment plans and escalate care as needed.
- Use EPIC EMR to chart assessments, orders, medications, procedures, and discharge instructions; ensure accurate and timely documentation.
- Assist with procedures, perform basic life support measures, and provide patient and family education regarding care plans and dispositions.
- Support efficient patient flow, manage rapid response during emergencies, and contribute to a safe, orderly ER environment.
Requirements
- Active Massachusetts RN license
- Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience
- BLS (AHA) required; ACLS required
- PALS or ENPC required
- EPIC EMR experience required
- TNCC preferred; MAB preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced ER setting and to participate in the specified 12-hour night shift schedule
Onboarding and Notes
- Onboarding includes pass/fail ECG/telemetry and medications tests during onboarding (one attempt to pass; passing score 85%). Tests are administered by the client’s team via Zoom, with a study guide provided.
