Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and oversight for nursing services across assigned departments, including patient care coordination, staffing, and policy implementation
- Manage staffing plans, approve schedules, and ensure appropriate coverage based on patient needs and acuity
- Collaborate with education and HR to support ongoing staff development, competency validation, and performance improvement initiatives
- Maintain regulatory compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, and relevant standards; lead area Quality Improvement activities
- Participate in patient care conferences and interdisciplinary rounds; step into patient care roles as needed to meet changing care needs
- Report to and coordinate with hospital leadership; advocate for department resources, equipment, and process improvements
- Oversee staff performance, including onboarding, preceptor management, evaluations, and accountability for education due dates
Requirements
- Licenses: Active, current Alaska RN license at time of submittal
- Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program; Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferred
- Certifications: ACLS required; PALS and NRP preferred
- Experience: Minimum 5 years professional nursing experience; at least 2 years as an RN in immunotherapy/chemotherapy; at least 1 year in a supervisory/managerial role
- Vaccinations/Immunizations: Flu vaccine required
- Work setting: Ability to perform in a hospital setting with leadership responsibilities and emergency readiness
