Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for CVICU patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Monitor patient status, perform assessments, administer medications, and respond to clinical changes promptly.
- Supervise and direct activities of nursing staff across multiple levels, ensuring appropriate delegation and supervision.
- Coordinate care with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other disciplines to optimize patient outcomes.
- Apply critical thinking, professional judgment, and independent decision-making to prioritize needs and ensure patient safety.
Requirements
- Active California RN license (or eligible recognition for practice in California)
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program (RN)
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred
- Recent ICU/critical care experience preferred; CVICU experience strongly preferred
- Ability to work nights and the 36-hour weekly schedule
- Willingness to travel for a 13-week assignment
