Assignment Highlights:
  • Contract Length: 13 Weeks.
  • 12-Hour Days or Nights (varies by assignment).
  • FLOATING REQUIRED AS NEEDED; potential to float EVERY SHIFT.
  • Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team. 

Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to cardiac telemetry and stepdown patients.
  • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to patient condition changes.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies according to physician orders.
  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, case managers, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Perform patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, and discharge planning.
  • Accurately document patient care using the electronic medical record.

Required Qualifications:
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • BLS certification.
  • ACLS certification required.
  • NiH certification.
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Cardiac Telemetry, Progressive Care (PCU), Stepdown, or Acute Care experience.

Preferred Experience:
  • Experience caring for patients with:
    • Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS)
    • Heart Failure
    • Cardiac Arrhythmias
    • Post-Cardiac Catheterization
    • Post-Pacemaker or ICD Placement
  • Experience with continuous telemetry monitoring.
  • Familiarity with Epic electronic medical records.
  • Previous travel nursing experience preferred but not required.
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification is a plus.
  • Strong cardiac rhythm interpretation and patient assessment skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced hospital environment.
