Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CVICU Rapid Response position requiring prior CVICU experience and ACLS/NIH Stroke Scale certification.

Details

• 28-bed mixed ICU setting handling ICU, PCU, and med surg holds
• Patient ratios of 1:2 to 1:3
• Night shift schedule, 7 PM to 7 AM
• 3 12-hour shifts per week including every other weekend
• Documentation via Meditech EMR
• Uses i-mobile phones and mobile computer workstations on wheels
• Travelers float first and may be sent to the emergency department or PCU to cover ICU or PCU holds
• Bedside shift report used for every patient handoff at each transfer of care
• Cares for post op day 0 CABG patients, impellas, balloon pumps, Swan Ganz, and advanced hemodynamics
• Manages neuro procedures for aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage including EVDs, bolts (Codman), and Artic Sun induced hypothermia

Requirements

• Active RN license (SC or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale
• 36 months of RN experience with at least one year in an ICU
• Prior CVICU experience required
• One previous successful travel nursing assignment preferred, ideally at a facility using Meditech
• Comfort managing 1-3 ICU patients including those on ventilators
• Proficient in reading telemetry strips
• Experience with CRRT, advanced hemodynamics, and phlebotomy
• Able to administer respiratory treatments (inhalers and nebulizers) outside of the ICU
• BSN preferred
• Advanced certifications preferred
• TNCC certification preferred
